I say this all of the time, but I really mean it. We have been so blessed to photograph the best couples! We love them all and are so thankful we get to be a part of their special day. Karyn was originally referred to me by my good friend who is also a photographer in Knoxville. I knew from our initial conversation that I was going to love this girl and this wedding. Karyn and John are very hard working, determined and genuine people. Karyn is a pathologist and John is an ophthalmologist. Yah! Carazy! They met while in medical school and I’m pretty sure John was smitten as soon as he saw Karyn. They both mentioned at their reception how thankful they were for parents who encouraged them to reach for their dreams and not be limited and that they were going to pass that legacy on to their future children. The wedding day was filled with a small group of their very close friends and family at Club Leconte in Downtown, Knoxville. If you are not familiar with this place, it is the tallest building in Knoxville. It was my first time photographing a wedding there and I absolutely loved it. Julia, the wedding and events coordinator with Club Leconte was so helpful and easy to work with. Karyn’s Mom and sister did all of the decorations for the wedding and I absolutely loved the simplicility and elegance of the decor. My only concern leading up to Karyn’s day was the UT/ Florida game. I obsessively checked the UT calendar to make sure the start time wouldn’t be the same time I had to arrive at their location. For those who are not from Knoxville, On a UT game day it is SO DIFFICULT to navigate through downtown, especially if it is at the start or end of the game. Luckily, the game was early and we didn’t have any issues… YAY! There were so many highlights from the day. I LOVED seeing Karyn in her dress, John’s reaction to Karyn walking down the aisle and his speech to Karyn at the reception. John loves to make her laugh! He mentioned how if she looked as his cells from a microscope she would see that his cells are giving her hugs! I thought it was so funny! My other highlight was watching the grandparents dance.. They are so cute! Karyn and John, I know you will be spending a year apart while Karyn is away doing cancer research…As you are apart, be sure to do lots of Facetime/Skype video dates. We wish you both much happiness and success! I hope you are having the time of your life at your surprise honeymoon location. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been trying to figure out where you guys went… Enjoy our favorites from your wedding. Many thanks to all of the amazing vendors who make our weddings perfect. Club Leconte for hosting and catering, Lee Umberger with Ogle Entertainment for an awesome day and Publix for the yummy cakes. If you look close, you can see Neyland Stadium and the orange checkers. Another great view from the top. So sweet! Love their Grandparents!
