Goose Creek Farm Bed & Breakfast Wedding | Cindy & Steve Today’s blog is filled with deeply personal thoughts as I share about the wedding day of two very special friends. These few paragraphs will in no way cover the breadth of their individual stories or the love I feel toward the friends and family who make up their stories. Losing someone you have shared most of your life with is so difficult…what happens when you have reached that place in your life? What happens to the rest of your story when that chapter is over? The couple that is featured on the blog today is a little different than most of our normal brides and grooms. Both have been widowed and found love again! Jonathan has been friends with Steve for all of his life and I’ve also known him for about 10 years. Steve’s late wife, Cindy, who passed away early this year, had been such an important part of our lives! They were a special part of our wedding ceremony and had been mentors to us throughout the years of our marriage. When Steve lost his wife earlier this year, we were all so very heartbroken with him. I will forever and always miss my 7:30 a.m. encouraging text messages from Cindy, her contagious smile, and infectious laugh. I knew Steve would eventually remarry and that whoever God brought into his life would be so special and awesome, but I don’t think anyone ever expected Steve to fall in love with another Cindy. When Steve announced at Church that he had found love again, He brought Cindy up and said, “God Knew exactly what I would need and he gave me another Cindy to love for the rest of my life.” I was a little bit of a crying mess! We have adored Steve for so many years and we love his new bride Cindy just as much! I’ve actually known her longer than Steve. She is an amazing woman with a heart to serve and love. I watched her so bravely take care of her late husband while he was so sick for several years. She served him with honor and I know she’s gonna take great care of Steve. I am so thankful that of all the people that Steve could be with, that it’s with her! Their wedding was held at Goose Creek Farms in Dandridge, TN. My biggest highlight was being Steve and Cindy’s wedding photographer! I so loved being there with them all day. One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look. I always love this time with my couples and I knew it would be awesome with these two! When they saw each other I think they forgot Jonathan and I were there. There was such a joy that came over them! Their little twitter pated selves were lost for about 15 or so minutes…. It was so precious and I shed a few tears as I felt such gratefulness in my heart for being there with them at the beginning of this chapter in their lives. We weren’t sure if we should interrupt them or if we just needed to leave… The theme of their wedding was built around the song “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again,” by Danny Gokey about letting our hearts be full and love again after heartbreak. God has definitely brought them together to do just that! Another highlight was watching their friends and family come from all over to celebrate and show their love and support to Steve and Cindy. Thank you for celebrating and loving them with your presence on their wedding day! Enjoy this sweet couple and our favorite photos from their joyful wedding day! We love you, Cindy and Steve!
