My sister in law Kara and her husband Casey recently purchased a gorgeous piece of land in Jefferson City. It just so happen to have an awesome barn on it! So of course we HAD to do their annual session there! I always have the best time at their family sessions but their daughters Victoria and Ellie really stole the show this time around! Leading up the session, they spent several weeks practicing their poses and very specific smiles. We had a princess smile, a pretty smile, a soft smile, and even a no smile… haha! With every pose they would ask which smile they were suppose to do. It was SO much fun!! I just love this family! Oh, if you think Casey and Kara look familiar, like you have seen them in a magazine, it’s because you have! They modeled for our Paris Styled shoot that is featured in the Fall edition of the Pink Bride magazine. Woohoo!

Casey had one request for this shoot. He really wanted to do the “Farmer Pitchfork” pose. So, we did and I kinda did a little artsy edit to make it look like the original. It’s a little different, but so funny! And I’m sure this will be his favorite. lol!

I love venturing to new locations. It always feels like I am constantly finding new amazing spots in Jefferson City. There are tons of hidden treasures out there! It was such perfect timing to photograph this session because the following week they came and mowed the gorgeous hill where we did the shoot! I was a little bummed!

I adore Piper and Edie and their parents are fun too! I thought about adding a couple behind the scene shots of them being crazy trying to get them to smile! Melissa, thanks for trusting me to photograph your jewels! Enjoy some of my favs!

I met Megan several years ago at a wedding. We were both serving the bride and groom. I was of course doing photos and Megan, who is an incredible harpist, was playing live music! If you are looking for a wonderful harpist, checkout her website at http://megankabelaharpist.com/

At the time we met, she was pregnant with Esther. I have loved watching this family continue to grow over the years. We have done so many sessions together. I was so excited when Megan called to tell me she was pregnant again. I was even more excited when I found out I was the only one, other than the nurses and one of her friends, who would know the gender of baby #3. I loved prepping for this shoot! Erik and Megan wore blue because they thought baby #3 would be a boy and Abigail and Esther wore pink for a girl. Enjoy this gender reveal!

We met up at a Sunflower field in Knoxville for this family session…. but discovered all the sunflowers had pretty much already died. I was a little sad, but quickly found tons of other gorgeous spots! One of the highlights from this session was watching Jaxson with Olivia. That kid is a charmer and the sweetest big brother! It makes me hopeful that my son Gabriel will be as sweet with Katelyn as they continue to grow up.

Melanie owns the Pink Pig Pottery Studio in Morristown. If you haven’t been there, you have got to check it out… It’s an adorable shop! You can paint pottery and it’s a great place for birthday parties and events and Melanie is a crazy awesome party planner. Whenever I am planning a party, I try to think of how Melanie would do it. Lol! Love that girl and her family! Enjoy some of my favorites!
