It seems like just yesterday I was photographing her when she graduated high school! However, I do vaguely remember having my first newborn at home. So, maybe it has really been over four years ago! I was so thankful to be able to document this amazing time in her life. We had so much fun walking around Market Square and downtown Knoxville for her session! She is an amazing girl with a great future ahead of her!!! College is hard work and should be celebrated when you finally make it to the other side! So, Congrats on persevering and not giving up. Hope you love your photos!

Mary Morris “Snow” an Adele “Hello” Parody- Behind the Scenes http://lisapriceblog.com/marymorrissnowadelehello/ http://lisapriceblog.com/marymorrissnowadelehello/#respond Mon, 25 Jan 2016 19:53:07 +0000 http://www.lisapriceblog.com/?p=6257 adelesnow_0009.jpg

I can’t believe Mary’s “Snow” (Adele’s “Hello” Parody)  has nearly reached 2 million views in just six days. What a crazy week! I wanted to write a behind the scenes blog about the making of her music video and to share a little about Mary.  I have been friends with Mary for about 7 years. She is a graduate from Carson Newman University and has been a 3rd grade teacher at Rush Strong Elementary school for 7 years. She is a rockstar teacher, so funny and has an amazing voice!  Mary has written several parodies over the past few years to popular songs. Each one is unique and will have you laughing. She’s definitely got the gift of song writing.  One of my favorites is “Fire in my brain,” another Adele parody on her Youtube channel.

It’s one of my favorites because it really showcases how much she is loved by all of the students. The kids are all singing along with her! You know your kids love you when they sing with you and don’t think you are lame – lol.  During school, Mary often wears a crab hat while reading to her students. Sometimes, if she is having a hard time getting their attention she leaves the classroom, comes back and begins teaching with a British accent or sings to get their attention. She is so creative and I would have LOVED to have had her as a teacher and I’m thankful to have her as my friend.

So, the first time I heard the very popular “Hello” by Adele. I told my husband Jonathan if Mary wrote a parody to “Hello”, we would have to make her a video. So, fast forward to January and Mary wrote one called “Snow” and performed it at a teacher inservice meeting. I laughed so hard when she first shared the video and texted her right away about making her a music video.

Usually, when I get an idea about a project and share it with my husband, he ends up with charts, graphs, storyboards, spreadsheets and all things nerdy…And for that I’m thankful because those things kinda drive me crazy 🙂 For those that don’t know, Jonathan and I run a digital marketing agency called InnerDigital. So, we made this a joint project between LPP and InnerDigital.

When Jonathan pitched the idea to Joshua and Laura, who work with InnerDigital, they were on board! We couldn’t have done the project without them.  Joshua, was the Director of Photography and Laura served as Keygrip. We are so thankful for the many hours they put in to help bring Mary’s parody to life!

We started the shoot Rush Strong Elementary in Strawberry Plains, TN. When we arrived in her classroom, I noticed she had the number of unused snow days listed on her board and  an array of snowflakes on the walls. I asked Mary if she did that to prep for the video. She said,  “that’s just how I always decorate my classroom in the winter.” So perfect! We wrapped up shooting at the school and finished up at Raines Manor in Morristown, TN.

We are so thankful for all of the love, support, encouraging words, emails and shares Mary has received! We love that people are finally able to hear her beautiful voice! I’m over here with my hanky going, “Sing it girl!” Haha! So, what should she do next? Another parody, original music? Maybe Ellen will invite Mary to come on her show.

If you want to see her video again, view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnIRfvFLiWQ

Ella’s One Year Session | Dara’s Garden http://lisapriceblog.com/ellas-one-year-session-daras-garden/ http://lisapriceblog.com/ellas-one-year-session-daras-garden/#respond Mon, 28 Sep 2015 18:48:14 +0000 http://lisapriceblog.com/?p=4604 I can’t believe Ella is already one years old…. This little girl is so loved by her parents and her awesome grandparents who always come to her sessions. For her first birthday, her Grandfather built her a Cinderella carriage and inscribed her name, “Ella” on it.  We knew we wanted to use it, but needed a perfect setting for it. We chose the beautiful Dara’s Garden in Knoxville with the dreamy white house and enchanting garden. I absolutely love this venue and everyone who works there is so accommodating. Her carriage looked absolutely perfect with this backdrop! Her parents even had a special princess outfit for that portion of the session. My most favorite detail of Ella’s session was her Dad as her Prince Charming. Every little girl needs her Dad to be her prince!

Ella is so full of life and is a huge fan of music. At her nine month session, her favorite song was, “Uptown Funk” and we basically played it the entire time. At this session she needed to hear, “Watch me( Nae Nae).” We let her dance to it the entire time and it was so much fun to watch her! I have loved watching her grow up this past year! Amber and Brandon, thanks for bringing your sweetie to me. I love her little self! Enjoy some of my favorites from her session.

Truth And Treasure Banquet – Featuring Michael W. Smith | Morristown Tn Photographer http://lisapriceblog.com/truth-and-treasure-banquet-featuring-michael-w-smith/ http://lisapriceblog.com/truth-and-treasure-banquet-featuring-michael-w-smith/#respond Thu, 12 Feb 2015 15:48:34 +0000 http://www.lisapriceblog.com/?p=2112 One of the things I love most about my job is meeting so many new people…..

Two weekends ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Cornerstone Academy’s annual fundraising banquet – Truth & Treasure.  Cornerstone is a private Christian school located in Morristown, TN.  The event location was in the First Presbyterian Church gymnasium.  Evi Hunstman, the event coordinator, did an incredible job pulling a large team together to make this years Banquet a great success.  This was especially impressive since, as she likes to say, Evi is a Nurse Practitioner and not an event planner. 🙂 The gym was dramatically transformed into a stunning banquet hall with soft accent lights, beautiful center pieces, and white billows of fabric hanging across the entire room which made an elegant ceiling.  Last year, Phil Vischer, the creator of Veggie Tales, was the guest speaker. This year Michael W. Smith graced the stage.

The evening started with a VIP event followed by dinner deliciously catered by Jersey Girl Diner. Guests enjoyed  browsing and bidding on silent auction items before the main event. The banquet hall quickly filled with over 600 guests, dinner was served, and the live auction began! Then, Zion Dance Company performed three songs. Several of Cornerstone’s students participated in one of the dances. One of my highlights from the evening was watching a video presentation about the vision and heart behind the school. The feature film, shot and edited by Joshua Stephen Jones Cinematography and directed by Joe Huntsman, was dedicated to Pastor Richard Emmert. Pastor Emmert was the pastor of Manley Baptist Church for over 30 years and was greatly LOVED in the Lakeway Area. He was instrumental in helping cast the vision for a Christian school. Pastor Emmert was a great source of encouragement, prayer, and wisdom to the founding board of directors and the school.  He so believed in the school that he even opened the church doors and allowed Cornerstone Academy to be in their building for the first few years at no charge.  He passed away last month after a long battle with cancer.  This film was a beautiful tribute to him and his legacy.

Then, Michael W. Smith took the stage, sang several of his all time favorite songs, and shared his heart on fathering and life. I have been to QUITE A FEW of Michael W. Smith’s concerts in the past, but I loved how many stories he shared at this banquet. He also shared what he feels to be his biggest accomplishment. He deemed this accomplishment to be that he survived success and fame! This statement was very impactful. One of the funniest comments he made was in reference to the story behind the song “Friends are Friends Forever.”  “I never knew when my wife and I wrote this song 20 years ago that I would be singing it for the rest of my life!” Haha! Michael W. Smith was a wonderful guest speaker and so gracious during VIP photo time! He’s the real deal!

The evening ended with Headmaster Ben Holland casting a new vision for the future of Cornerstone. Their goal is to build a school that can accodomate over 600 students. If you are interested in donating please visit their website at www.camtn.com. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from the evening! xoxoxo
